In order to travel you will need a valid passport for getting in and out of countries and as identification - for buying tickets, cashing traveller's cheques and checking into accommodation etc. A passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the period you plan to be
travelling.
Make a photocopy of your itinerary, passport, credit cards, travel insurance documents, important phone numbers and keep them separate from the originals, in case of loss or theft.
Ensure you have visas where necessary, it is your responsibility to obtain them. Some countries require passports to be valid for six months after expiry of the visa. NB: having a visa does not guarantee you entry on arrival in any country.
